The client
Paximadia Elena is an established Cypriot bakery founded in 1993 that specializes in traditional rusks, breadsticks, and snacks. The company is family-owned and operated and combines tradition with modern production practices. All products are based on traditional recipes handed down by the grandmother of the family and feature locally sourced products.
The variety of products of the bakery include a selection of traditional Mediterranean and Cyprus food products such as, paximadia and fragrant rusks with anise or sesame, rusk biscuits including olive and tahini bites, breadsticks and grissini including olive and halloumi flavoured and products like almond cakes with raisins.
PAXIMADIA ELENA LTD operates four retail stores in the Nicosia and Limassol districts producing a variety of products including breads, bakery products, snacks, confectionary and many other products. The Company produces all its products in-house and supports both wholesale and retail operations.
The project
The scope of cooperation between Paximadia Elena and Consultics was two-fold – Marketing and Branding and Business Transformation services. Under the scope of Marketing and Branding, Consultics was assigned with the development and uplifting of the brand identity of Elena bakeries, including the social media channels development and expansion, the collateral and packaging design of the retail and wholesale products (both for Paximadia and Bakeries) as well as the creation of the marketing plan for brand development, brand awareness, business development and growth achievement.
Secondly, Consultics enabled the development of the internal re-engineering process of the company in order to achieve its full potential and be able to further expand. The project was subsidized by the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development schemes, where Consultics is a qualified vendor.
The specific objective of the project was the improvement of the internal procedures and inter-departmental interactions of the company as well as establishing well-defined performance planning, monitoring and assessment procedures. Additionally, the improvement of the internal/external communications process and the company’s culture were addressed.
The outcome
Following a 6-month project, Consultics was able to deliver to Paximadia Elena Ltd the means and guidelines for the strategic direction that should be followed in the future in order to achieve the vision statement set by the owners. Additionally, changes in the behavioral aspects of the management were implemented in order for the company to transform from a traditional family business to a corporate entity. Processes and procedures, decision notion trees and a well-defined organizational structure were generated, supplying the company with an end-to-end report on how to operate so as to achieve the strategic goals and KPI’s set.
Under the scope of marketing a branding, Consultics designed and created multiple deliverables, including the new packaging of Elena Bakeries, the packaging design for the products exported to the U.S.A. as well as several collateral and promotional material. In addition, the social media presence was uplifted with strategic posting and design consistency, aligned with the detailed marketing plan developed.
